Life’s a beach café is conveniently located on the stunningly beautiful Maenporth beach and is open all year round to serve locals and visitors to the area.
This is a family run business by Leann and her son James, who have completely revamped and improved the menu and services offered since taking over in April 2019. The car park is very reasonable to park all day right on the beach if you need to. There is a shop in the café as well to pick up anything you have forgotten for your day at the beach, or to take a gift home.
The café is thriving despite having a number of obstacles to overcome. In May 2019, one month into their new business venture, an electrical fault caused the café to burn down, and it needed to be completely rebuilt. COVID in March 2020 meant restrictions prevented the café from opening for much of lock down until the summer from a temporary unit. With the new building completed, the grand reopening took place in September 2021.
The café has an excellent breakfast menu until 11.30 each day serving bacon, sausage, and eggs baps and vegetarian alternatives. There is a variety of freshly made ciabattas on the lunch menu and the famous Maen Burger……. Not to be missed!!! Hot dogs and halloumi burgers are also available until close.
On Friday nights, you can pre-order freshly cooked pizzas to enjoy on the beach on warm summer evenings. What better way to extend your day at the beach with freshly delicious cooked pizza!!
As well as running the café, the team are also responsible for the upkeep of the beach and do a fantastic job in making sure it is clean and tidy for all.
Leann and James are constantly looking to improve the café and are replacing the awnings and putting in a new ice cream counter in the autumn of 2022. We can’t wait to see the further improvements!
